Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient building operations.

This position is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical issues, working independently, and serving as a technical resource for other maintenance personnel

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, rooftop units, pumps, VAV systems, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components, motors, VFDs, control circuits, and HVAC control systems.
  • Monitor and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation using a CMMS.
  • Respond to emergency equipment failures and restore systems safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with contractors during repairs and equipment upgrades.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians.
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, company, and site safety policies.

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Valid driver's license (where required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC/R journeyman or equivalent certification.
  • State or local HVAC license.
  • Boiler operator or stationary-engineer license.
  • Experience with centrifugal or screw chillers.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems.
  • Experience with industrial or large commercial facilities.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as Maximo, Corrigo, or similar platforms.
  • Electrical or controls certification.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring maintenance personnel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and industrial environments.
  • Climb ladders, lift equipment, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours emergency response as needed.
