The role of an Undergraduate Sales Enablement, Operations & Analytics Intern is intended to start in Summer 2027.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.
About the Safety & Industrial Business Group:
The Safety and Industrial Business Group (SIBG) at 3M offers a diverse range of products designed to enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency across various industries. Key product categories include personal safety (respiratory, hearing, eye, and fall protection), abrasives (coated, bonded, and non-woven), adhesives and tapes (industrial adhesives and various tapes), electrical markets (electrical tapes, wire connectors, and cable management), automotive aftermarket (collision repair and automotive tapes and adhesives), and industrial and safety markets (safety solutions and industrial maintenance products).
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a 3M SIBG Undergraduate Sales Enablement, Operations & Analytics Intern, you will help support the sales organization within the Safety and Industrial Business Group by working on projects that improve sales productivity, strengthen customer engagement, and enable smarter business decisions. This internship provides hands-on experience across sales strategy, data analysis, reporting, process improvement, sales tools, and enablement resources that help teams sell 3M Safety and Industrial solutions more effectively.
You will collaborate with sales leaders and cross-functional partners in marketing, finance, product, training, supply chain, and commercial teams to analyze performance, identify opportunities, support go-to-market execution, and develop resources that help sales teams succeed. Through meaningful project work, coaching, and exposure to real business challenges, this role is designed to build foundational skills in sales operations, analytics, communication, project management, and commercial execution.
Daily tasks can include, but are not limited to:
· Contribute to strategic projects that strengthen go-to-market execution, sales effectiveness, product positioning, and customer engagement.
· Analyze sales data, customer needs, pipeline trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities, risks, and productivity improvements.
· Support sales reporting, dashboards, forecasting, pipeline reviews, quota tracking, territory planning, and performance tracking.
· Help improve sales processes, tools, workflows, CRM data, and best practices to increase efficiency and consistency.
· Develop or support sales enablement materials such as playbooks, presentations, proposals, customer-facing resources, and conversation guides.
· Partner with sales, marketing, product, finance, training, supply chain, and commercial teams to align priorities and support business planning.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
· Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
· Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
· Experience or coursework involving data analysis, sales performance, business insights, marketing analytics, finance, or go-to-market strategy.
· Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for organizing data, building reports, creating presentations, and communicating insights.
· Familiarity with CRM systems, dashboards, data visualization tools, or sales reporting platforms is a plus.
· Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work across teams.
· Self-motivated and proactive problem-solver with an interest in sales strategy, sales enablement, operations, analytics, and customer-focused business execution.
Work location:
· This Role has an on-site working model, with the employees working at least four (4) days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN or Austin, TX
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel
