JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you’ll learn and apply proven best-practice casting methods, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work hands-on to identify and solve process challenges that affect quality, yield, and rework. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and advance CPP quality systems, procedures, and practices.
- Conduct contract review of customer PO’s.
- Review & interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and other special process/external specifications to support the Quality System & production of castings.
- Develop and document quality work procedures and processes.
- Work with CPP NDT Level III’s personnel to ensure product compliance and review accept/scrap/rework rates.
- Oversees conformance and quality enforcement of casting manufacturing process.
- Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results.
- Manage resolution of non-conforming material/processes.
- Communicate with customers to resolve/address quality system concerns/inquires.
- Support AS9100, Nadcap, and customer audits through preparation of evidence, guidance, and submitting corrective action responses & closure of the audit.
- Drive closure of preventative/corrective actions, customer returns/inquires.
- Actively participates in and seeks out opportunities for Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Coordinate with engineering team the applicable qualification documentation and data submittal packages.
- Review quality shipment documentation including certificates of conformance and other quality audit checklists to ensure compliance to all customer & external requirements.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved.
- Use problem solving tools and techniques to ensure compliance to customer requirements and increase profitability (5 why, fishbone diagrams, 8D, etc).
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere with respect and communication in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: BS in Engineering Discipline or 3-5 years of applicable experience.
- Experience: Quality systems, and/or formal training in Quality tools.
- Certifications/Licenses: CQA or CQ Engineer preferred
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic engineering skills. Knowledge and application of statistics. Knowledge of computer applications. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs. Quality system and problem solving skills. Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, reports and basic working knowledge of GD&T. Good written communication skills. Good verbal communications with all levels of CPP management and manufacturing. Familiar with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documentation
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience with Investment Casting, machining processes, heat treatment, chemical processing, and/or brazing, First Article Inspection experience, AS9100, AS13100, and/or Nadcap Audit experience, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Working Environment: Office Environment with frequent activity in the factory.
- Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing, using a computer for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 20lbs.
- Travel Requirements: Approx. 10%.
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
