The Role:
Location: Bismarck, ND
Assignment duration: Start ASAP; ongoing coverage for 2026/2027
Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR)
Unit: Interventional Radiology
# of Positions: 1
Type: Travel
Shift Type/Hours: Days - typical on-site day 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with evening call 4:00 PM-8:00 AM and 24-hour weekend call
On-call detail: Evening call weekdays; 24-hour weekend call
EMR: Epic
Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
Licensure: ND license highly preferred; IMLC accepted/required if ND license is not active. Willingness to obtain state license required.
Orientation: On-site orientation required prior to coverage
Average procedures per on-site day: Varies (typically 10-15)
Board certification/fellowship: IR residency or fellowship and Board Certification required
Required Procedures (provider must have experience with these):
Diagnostic vascular intervention / angiography (venous & arterial)
Therapeutic vascular intervention (angioplasty, stenting - venous & arterial)
Thrombolytic and embolization therapies
Interventional body (non-neuro) procedures
Vascular access devices / PICCs, central lines, port-a-caths
IVC filters, TIPS
Aspiration/drainage procedures, abscess drainage, chest tube insertion
Percutaneous needle biopsies (above & below diaphragm, bone)
Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, nephrostomy/ureteral stent insertion
Percutaneous extractions (biliary, renal), paracentesis, thoracentesis
Gastrostomy tube insertion, Y90/TACE
Renal fistulograms, cryoablation, vertebroplasty, joint/epidural injections, blood patch
Preferred but not required: Neuro (head) stroke thrombectomy
Submission requirements / qualifications:
Board Certified - required
IR residency or fellowship - required
State license: ND license highly preferred; IMLC required if ND license is not active
ACLS, BLS - required
Clean malpractice history - highly preferred
Availability at time of name clear - required
Must have experience with all required procedures - required
Self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation - required
Procedure list must be completed using "Yes" or "No" responses (indicating which procedures the provider has completed); this must be added in the submission note
