Preferred Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our highly skilled rehabilitation team in Yonkers, New York. Work Environment
This position is located within a vibrant hospital setting, providing you with the opportunity to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. The clinic operates on a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient appointments and therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional ability.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities designed to promote physical well-being and alleviate pain.
- Educate patients on essential concepts such as body mechanics, exercise techniques, and the importance of a home exercise regimen.
- Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking metrics like range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional advancements.
- Ensure treatment areas are organized and well-prepared, with necessary equipment and supplies readily available for use during therapy sessions.
- Engage in effective communication and collaboration with the entire healthcare team to coordinate a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide emotional and motivational support to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive recovery environment.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring a respectful and safe setting for care delivery.

Compensation and Benefits
