Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities: The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Qualifications: Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Meet at least one of the following: Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent. Certified Surgical Tech (CST). 1 years of prior operating room experience.
