Full job description

Job Overview:

RB Hinkle Construction is seeking an experienced Driver to support our Dominion field operations. This position is responsible for safely operating company vehicles and transporting equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to and from jobsites while supporting field crews as needed.


The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, comfortable working in an active construction environment, and able to work closely with field supervisors and crews.


Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company trucks and other assigned vehicles.
  • Transport equipment, materials, tools, and supplies between yards, jobsites, and other locations.
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle, mileage, inspection, and DOT-related documentation as required.
  • Secure loads properly and ensure materials and equipment are transported safely.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean and safe operating condition.
  • Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist field crews with loading, unloading, and other jobsite duties as needed.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and coordinate deliveries according to field schedules.
  • Maintain professional communication with employees, customers, and members of the public.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred or required based on assigned vehicle/equipment.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements.
  • Previous commercial driving, construction, utility, or field experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials as required.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to work on time.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours when required by operations.
