The Avenue at North Ridgeville is a Post-Hospital Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care Facility that offers a distinctive environment not commonly found in skilled nursing facilities. From our hotel-like environment to our all private suites, the Avenue is committed to providing an excellent level of physical, medical, emotional and spiritual support in an environment of comfort and respect. Our facility provides some of the area’s highest level of rehabilitation, nursing and medical support to individuals needing post-hospital care and services. We are looking for a committed individual with a reputation for being cheerful and friendly as they administer care to our residents.

The primary purpose of the charge nurse position is to provide direct nursing care to residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice

  • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians

  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.)

  • Perform skilled charting via the point click care charting system

  • Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders

  • Maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)

  • Provide instant medical care in emergencies

  • Supervise nursing assistants

  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for residents and their families

  • Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending monthly in-services

  • 12 hour shifts

  • every other holiday

  • every other weekend
