Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Physic Rehab Services LLC located in Paterson, New Jersey. This full-time role involves providing high-quality therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Work Environment

This position is located in an onsite outpatient office environment where you will work directly with patients in a hands-on capacity. Our clinic is equipped with advanced therapeutic modalities and tools to assist in rehabilitation, designed to create a welcoming space for patient-centered care. As a team member, you’ll collaborate closely with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each patient’s recovery journey. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of physical therapy services as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist, ensuring the highest quality of care.
  • Contribute to the development of effective treatment plans and obtain necessary approvals from referring physicians.
  • Conduct thorough chart reviews to understand patient evaluations and assist in tailoring treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Utilize various physical therapy therapeutic procedures and modalities with safety, proficiency, and sound judgment to aid patient recovery.
  • Identify patient care issues that affect progress, communicate these insights to the supervising Physical Therapist, and suggest adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient services in the electronic health record system, adhering to organizational policies.
  • Monitor treatment changes in accordance with established protocols, ensuring continuity and consistency in patient care.
  • Educate patients' families and nursing staff about care protocols and discharge plans to promote seamless transitions from therapy services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, which may include post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. As we cater to a diverse patient base, your ability to connect with and motivate patients while adapting treatment strategies will be crucial in enhancing their recovery experience and improving functional capabilities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
  • A current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality patient-centered care with empathy and support.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, possessing skills in exercise therapy, manual techniques, and sports rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
