MISSION
Drive sustainable growth in the Americas through two complementary mandates: (1) build brand-driven growth by securing leading US brands and retailers that adopt and prescribe bluesign across their supply chains, creating pull-through demand for manufacturers and suppliers to become bluesign SYSTEM PARTNERS; and (2) build and lead a high-performing regional sales organization that grows the existing customer base, acquires new SYSTEM PARTNERS and delivers the region's revenue and retention objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execute the Americas sales strategy, with US brand penetration and regional sales performance as the two core growth priorities.
- Personally lead engagement with strategically important US brands and retailers and secure adoption, recommendation or prescription of bluesign across their supply chains.
- Translate brand commitments into identifiable SYSTEM PARTNER opportunities across garment manufacturers, material manufacturers and chemical suppliers, and ensure disciplined follow-through by the relevant sales teams.
- Lead, develop and strengthen the Americas sales team, establishing clear account ownership, revenue objectives, pipeline discipline and performance accountability.
- Grow and retain the existing SYSTEM PARTNER portfolio while acquiring new partners in core and targeted growth segments.
- Build strong relationships with the wider SGS network and other bluesign regions to create mutually beneficial commercial opportunities.
- Own regional revenue performance, forecasting, pipeline quality and corrective actions against annual budget and mid-range plan.
REGIONAL SALES LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE
- Lead, coach and develop the Americas sales team and build a high-performance, customer-centric commercial culture.
- Set clear individual and regional objectives for revenue, retention, new SYSTEM PARTNERS, pipeline and conversion.
- Establish rigorous pipeline, opportunity and account-management routines, including regular deal and account reviews.
- Ensure systematic management of the existing customer portfolio, with focus on retention, NRR, expansion and new business development.
- Translate brand-generated supply-chain opportunities into clear sales targets, assign ownership and monitor conversion.
- Identify capability and coverage gaps within the team and develop, recruit or reshape resources where required.
- Improve sales productivity through account segmentation, territory prioritization, CRM discipline and reliable forecasting.
- Provide regular market and competitor intelligence to inform regional and global commercial strategy.
- Collaborate cross-regionally where brand accounts or their supply chains span multiple geographies.
BRAND PENETRATION & SUPPLY-CHAIN PULL
- Define and execute a focused US brand penetration strategy, prioritizing brands based on influence, supplier footprint and commercial potential.
- Build senior relationships with decision-makers in sourcing, supply chain, materials, product compliance, quality and sustainability functions.
- Position bluesign around the brand's business needs, including supply-chain compliance, safer chemistry, material integrity, regulatory readiness and simplification of supplier requirements.
- Secure brand commitments that create tangible pull for bluesign adoption within their supply chains.
- Develop strategic account plans for priority brands, mapping decision-makers, supplier networks, adoption barriers and commercial potential.
- Coordinate with Global Brand Partnerships, Marketing, Science & Sustainability, SGS and other regions to strengthen propositions and accelerate conversion.
- Track brand-originated opportunities through to supplier conversion and measurable SYSTEM PARTNER revenue.
- 10+ years of commercial/business-development experience in the US apparel, footwear, textile or consumer-brand ecosystem, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrable track record of personally opening, winning and developing major US brands or retailers.
- Established senior network within relevant US brands and retailers, particularly across sourcing, supply chain, materials, product compliance, quality and sustainability.
- Proven experience influencing brand requirements and translating them into supplier or value-chain adoption.
- Strong understanding of global textile/apparel supply chains and the relationship between brands, manufacturers, material suppliers and chemical suppliers.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a regional B2B sales team and delivering against revenue targets.
- Experience with complex, consultative B2B selling involving multiple stakeholders and long decision cycles.
- Experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, supply-chain compliance, chemical management, testing/inspection/certification or traceability is a strong advantage.
- Experience working in an international and matrix organization.
- Strategic and consultative selling with strong commercial conversion capability.
- Executive presence and credibility with senior brand decision-makers.
- Strong sales leadership, coaching and performance-management capability.
- Ability to build strategic accounts and convert brand relationships into downstream commercial opportunities.
- Strong commercial discipline in pipeline management, forecasting, CRM and account planning.
- Ability to challenge customers constructively and articulate a compelling business case for bluesign adoption.
- Strong cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration skills.
- Result-driven, solution-oriented and highly independent.
