The Housing Maintenance & Community Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of The Inn at Boreal Mountain, focusing on light maintenance, building upkeep, resident support, and community activities. This is a hands-on position that works throughout The Inn to identify and address maintenance needs, prepare rooms, maintain common areas, support residents, and help ensure the building is safe, clean, organized, and welcoming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintenance & Building Upkeep

  • Perform light maintenance and minor repairs, including hardware, fixtures, furniture, lighting, paint, caulking, and basic plumbing.

  • Troubleshoot basic appliance issues and communicate larger or specialized repairs to the Housing Manager.

  • Conduct regular building walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, and cleanliness concerns.

  • Prepare rooms for move-ins, move-outs, turnovers, and inspections.

Winter & Exterior Upkeep

  • Operate snow blowers and assist with snow and ice removal around entrances, walkways, emergency exits, and other high-use areas.

  • Help keep emergency and building access areas clear during winter weather.

  • Assist with generator operation when properly trained and directed.

Resident & Community Support

  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout The Inn, particularly during afternoon and evening hours.

  • Assist residents with routine housing questions and concerns.

  • Work closely with Resident Assistants (RAs) to support a safe, clean, and respectful community.

  • Help plan and coordinate at least one resident activity or community event each week, including games, movie nights, food events, tournaments, and seasonal activities.

Transportation

  • Share responsibility with the Housing Manager for transporting J-1 employees to Truckee approximately twice per week.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and follow all company vehicle and driving policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with maintenance, facilities, construction, building upkeep, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Comfortable using basic tools and performing hands-on work.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on responsibilities.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

  • Ability to work afternoon/evening shifts and in winter weather conditions.
