Full job description
We are seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN Physician for a locum tenens opportunity beginning November 2026. This is a hospital-based Labor & Delivery role providing 24-hour in-house coverage in a high-volume women's health program with strong specialty support and no office call responsibilities.
Assignment Details- Start Date: November 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Coverage Needed: 4 6 shifts per month
- Ongoing opportunities may be available
- 24-hour in-house call shifts
- 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
- No office call responsibilities
- Scheduled hospital coverage only
- Acute Care Hospital
- Labor & Delivery / OB Hospitalist Program
- Approximately 1,300 1,500 annual births
- Level III NICU onsite
- Dedicated antepartum unit for high-risk pregnancies
- Private maternity suites
- Cesarean delivery suites
- Epic EMR
- Evaluate and treat patients in the Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED)
- Manage unassigned OB/GYN patients
- Monitor labor and interpret fetal heart tracings
- Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Provide postpartum care and evaluations prior to discharge
- Respond to obstetrical emergencies and labor complications
- Consult on pregnancy-related and gynecologic concerns from the ED and inpatient units
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
- Follow evidence-based maternal and neonatal care protocols
- Vaginal deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Emergency obstetrical procedures
- Recent delivery and surgical experience required
- In-house Neonatologist
- 24/7 Anesthesia coverage
- OB/GYN Hospitalists
- Certified Nurse Midwives
- Family Medicine Physicians
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
- Robotics training preferred
- Active Texas medical license preferred
- Licensing assistance available for qualified candidates
- IMLC candidates must provide Letter of Qualification (LOQ)
