Full job description
ATC West Healthcare is seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a highly specialized neonatal care team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role provides advanced in-house NICU coverage across multiple facilities, focusing on the care of critically ill and extremely premature newborns. The position emphasizes teamwork, high-acuity clinical practice, and opportunities for both clinical and academic engagement.
Dates / Schedule- Full-time, permanent position
- In-house NICU coverage model across multiple facilities
- Requires local residency in the Kansas City, MO area (relocation may be required)
- Not open to locum tenens candidates
- Visa support (J1/H1B) not guaranteed; must be disclosed
- Provide in-house neonatal coverage at a 49-bed Level IIIB NICU
- Manage high-acuity neonatal cases using advanced therapies including:
- Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
- High-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV)
- High-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV)
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- Care for extremely low gestational age newborns (as young as 22 weeks)
- Support over 450 annual NICU admissions with an average daily census of 30 patients
- Collaborate with neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs) providing 24/7 coverage
- Support oversight of a Level IIIA NICU, Level II NICU, and well-baby units
- Participate in telehealth-supported out-of-house coverage
- Engage in quality improvement (QI) initiatives and clinical advancement projects
- Contribute to regional neonatal care coordination and delivery services
- Pursue individual clinical or academic interests within the practice
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (required)
- Neonatology clinical experience (required)
- Missouri medical license or willingness to obtain (required)
- Clean malpractice and licensing history (highly preferred)
- Must disclose visa status (J1/H1B support not guaranteed)
- NPDB Self-Query Report within 30 days (required at submission)
- DEA registration prior to start (required)
- Eligible for hospital credentialing
- Must meet facility-specific clearance requirements
