We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at Athletics Therapy Center, a reputable Skilled Nursing Facility located in West McLean, Virginia. Work Environment
This role is performed onsite at our Skilled Nursing Facility in West McLean, Virginia, which fosters an engaging and interactive environment with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and resources. Our multidisciplinary team consists of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and rehabilitation aides, all of whom work cohesively to support our patients’ rehabilitation journey. Your day-to-day interactions with residents, family members, and colleagues will be essential in promoting positive patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on rehabilitative care by implementing individualized treatment plans established by licensed physical therapists.
- Assist residents in executing therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living, targeting their specific rehabilitation needs.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, offering insights and updates to the therapy and nursing teams during weekly meetings.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies to maintain independence outside of the facility.
- Participate actively in care planning meetings, contributing valuable observations that enhance patient treatment modalities.
- Foster a supportive and positive rehabilitation atmosphere that motivates residents and uplifts their morale throughout the recovery process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with an elderly population and patients requiring long-term care, assisting them in regaining their strength and capacity for engagement in daily activities. Our residents may be recovering from orthopedic surgeries, strokes, or degenerative conditions, necessitating personalized rehabilitation strategies that cater to their unique needs.
Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
- An active Virginia PTA license (or eligibility for licensure) is essential for this role.
- Proven clinical judgment and effective teamwork skills to provide collaborative care.
- A genuine passion for senior care and a commitment to delivering exceptional service quality.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, especially in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings, is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this full-time PTA position ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
