How you'll contribute

A Charge Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

The Charge Nurse coordinates and supervises patient care activities during an assigned shift while serving as a clinical leader and resource for nursing staff. The Charge Nurse ensures safe, high-quality, patient-centered care by directing workflow, promoting communication, resolving operational issues, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

  • Provide leadership and clinical support to RNs, LPNs, PCAs, and support staff.
  • Coordinate daily patient care activities and assign workloads based on staff competency, patient acuity, and staffing levels.
  • Monitor patient care quality and compliance with policies.
  • Adjust staffing assignments as needed.
  • Assist with direct patient care when necessary.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical concerns and emergencies.
  • Promote communication among physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Ensure timely EMR documentation.
  • Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Respond to emergencies and activate protocols.
  • Monitor patient safety initiatives.
  • Document incidents according to policy.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and orient new staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for :

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Current RN license, BLS required; ACLS/PALS as applicable.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
  • Minimum two years of acute care experience preferred; prior leadership experience preferred.
