Full job description
Position Overview
As a safety co-op, at Green Bay Packaging Mill Division, you will gain exposure to occupational safety in a paper mill setting.
Responsibilities
• Maintaining OSHA compliance of safety programs and procedures
• Conducting employee training as required by OSHA
• Developing and maintaining proactive safety and security programs
• Coordinating the implementation of measures needed to assure compliance with changes in laws and regulations affecting safety
• Conducting root cause analysis of injuries and near misses and making recommendations for eliminating potential risks
• Overseeing accident investigation programs, developing accident trends and implementing programs/action plans for accident prevention and improving safety performance
• Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• In pursuit of earning a BS degree in Occupational & Environmental Safety & Health
• Candidates must have completed or be working toward completion of their sophomore year and be in good academic standing
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• The ideal candidate will have availability to work a semester in addition to a full time summer internship. Hours during the school semester can be part-time and flexible.
