Full job description
Job Description:
- Perform data acquisition, management, analysis, and visualization tasks, including data cleaning, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), preparation of datasets, development of clear and informative visualizations, and interpretation of results to support environmental projects and decision-making
- Conduct field surveys to collect data using electronic data capture tools, including extended travel in remote areas
- Collect and manage water, soil, and other environmental media samples
- Prepare written reports and technical documentation summarizing field activities, analytical results, and findings
- Operate and maintain field vehicles and sampling/monitoring equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, geology or a related discipline
- 1 – 4 years of experience
- Understanding of environmental concepts and scientific principles
- Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with various programming languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to perform common data management, analysis, and visualization operations
- Strong GIS skills, including proficiency with both ESRI’s suite of ArcGIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro; ArcGIS Online) and open-source GIS tools (e.g., QGIS; Python; R) to visualize and analyze geospatial data
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to balance multiple, concurrent tasks
- Ability and willingness to travel and work outdoors, including remote locations
