We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team.
What you’ll bring:
- Completion of a Veterinary Technology degree and licensure to practice in the state of New York
- 3+ years experience in an assistant, nurse, or tech role in small animal primary care, urgent care, or emergency medicine
- Comfort talking with pet parents compassionately, patiently, and clearly
- A commitment to ethical and excellent care
- A positive attitude and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- An openness to feedback and willingness to learn and improve every day
- Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with special consideration given to those who want a standing schedule of weekend shifts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort typing and multitasking with various software and online tools
- An ability to lift 50 lbs
What you’ll do:
- Assist doctors during surgical, dental, and other procedures
- Mentor, train, and lead less experienced assistants and nurses
- Run nurse appointments with an assistant
- Capture full body X-rays
- Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia
- Prepare and run lab samples
- Scale, polish, and capture X-rays during dental procedures
- Educate pet parents and answer their questions
