Security Systems Installer

Role Overview

As a Commercial Installer, you will work onsite with commercial customers to install, set up, and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. You will also dismantle and reconstruct equipment when needed, support safe and efficient job completion, and help ensure each installation is completed to the expected standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, property damage, and loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
  • Contact customers prior to scheduled installation dates to verify the schedule and coordinate access.
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain the records needed for emergency call notification.

How You Will Do It

  • Confirm schedules with customers in advance and arrive prepared with the right information, materials, and plan for the job.
  • Work safely and neatly at every site to protect people, property, materials, and the customer environment.
  • Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures carefully so systems are installed correctly and can be tested with confidence.
  • Read blueprints closely and coordinate effectively with outside agencies when the project requires police, fire, or other notifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.

Nice to Have

  • Some technical school training.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21.97-$32.89 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
