Full job description
Position Summary
The Quality Control Visual Inspector is responsible for ensuring product quality and workplace safety by performing detailed inspections and supporting OSHA compliance within a manufacturing environment. This role helps maintain high standards for aerospace and defense products while promoting a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual inspections of parts and materials for defects such as porosity, coating flaws, nicks, burrs, and damage
Inspect applied coatings including paint, chemical film, plating, and anodized finishes
Use measuring tools and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparator, and height gage
Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T standards to ensure inspection accuracy
Prepare and maintain quality inspection reports, including AS9102 documentation
Monitor and support compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety policies
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet changing priorities
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and quality control processes
Experience with GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision machined parts
Familiarity with AS9102 and aerospace/defense industry requirements
Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent
- Experience in metal manufacturing or industrial environments
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
