Position Overview
Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral part of our dynamic rehabilitation team in Syracuse, New York. Work Environment
The position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Syracuse, New York, where we deliver professional and empathetic care to a diverse patient population. The work setting is bustling with activity but structured, as we prioritize patient safety and service excellence. Our operational hours are designed to cater to a wide range of patient needs, with a typical schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required to accommodate additional patient sessions or urgent care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing tailored treatment plans designed to address specific rehabilitation goals for patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities aimed at fostering strength, mobility, and functional improvement.
- Educate patients on best practices for body mechanics and propose home exercise programs designed to support and enhance recovery.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, ensuring adherence to all safety guidelines under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Monitor and document patients’ progress meticulously, noting improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functionality, while maintaining accurate records for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring essential equipment and supplies are organized and accessible for seamless therapy sessions.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Provide emotional and psychological support, creating a nurturing and encouraging environment that motivates patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Uphold high ethical standards in patient care while ensuring confidentiality and respect for patient rights.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our PTA will engage with a varied patient demographic, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological impairments, and sports-related injuries, alongside geriatric and pediatric patients. This role requires a responsive and adaptable approach to care, recognizing the distinct challenges faced by different age groups and conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy.
- Experience in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities, showcasing competency under a Physical Therapist’s direction.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and working as part of a healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
