Full job description
At Fehr & Peers, our most successful consultants combine technical expertise with strong client relationships, business development, and project leadership. We're seeking an experienced transportation planning or engineering consultant with approximately 8–12 years of experience who is excited to continue growing our presence in the Central Florida area while delivering exceptional work for our clients.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing project delivery with business development, has established relationships within the Central Florida transportation market, and is motivated to help expand our practice while mentoring others. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of at least three days per week in our downtown Orlando office.
What You'll Do
Lead transportation planning and engineering projects from pursuit through successful delivery, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and project teams.
Manage and deliver transportation planning and/or engineering projects in one or more of the following areas, depending on your background: corridor studies, transportation impact analyses, multimodal plans, active transportation projects, safety analysis, mobility impact fees, traffic operations analyses, transportation system planning, travel demand forecasting, conceptual design, and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for transportation engineering projects, including complete streets, bikeways, traffic signal, signing/striping, and lighting projects.
Manage direct client interaction and communication with members of the public through community engagement.
Build and strengthen relationships with public agencies, private-sector clients, developers, institutions, and other partners throughout the region.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to client strategy, proposals, interviews, and long-term relationship development.
Collaborate with office and regional leadership to grow Fehr & Peers' presence and reputation in the local market.
Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding clients' goals and delivering practical, innovative transportation solutions.
Mentor and develop staff while fostering collaborative, high-performing project teams.
Contribute to the long-term success of the Orlando office through leadership, collaboration, and practice growth.
