Full job description
We are seeking a Metrology Technician with experience in dimensional inspection and precision measurement for medical device components. The ideal candidate will be skilled in contact and non-contact metrology, blueprint interpretation with GD&T, and advanced optical measurement systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections using contact and non-contact metrology equipment.
- Develop and execute inspection programs on OGP SmartScope systems.
- Operate Keyence optical profilometer, optical comparators, digital microscopes, and white light scanning systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Collect, analyze, and document measurement data to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to determine inspection methods and resolve measurement issues.
- Use precision hand tools including micrometers, calipers, and other gages.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures, including handling regulated materials when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with contact and non-contact metrology inspection.
- Proficiency in OGP SmartScope programming and operation.
- Hands-on experience with Keyence optical profilometers and white light scanning systems.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
- Experience using optical comparators, digital microscopes, micrometers, calipers, and hand gages.
- Good understanding of trigonometry and precision measurement principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
