Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret strips independently. 2+ years of experience preferred; 1 year may be considered if the clinician is comfortable and confident.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered. Block scheduling is allowed.
Unit Details: The unit is part of a monitor pod comprising Tele, Tele-Observation, and Tele-Neuro Stroke. Cardiac/telemetry patients include CHF, 24 post-CABG, Watchmans, dysrhythmias, EP cases, and some medical telemetry; patients move off the floor when they no longer require telemetry. The assignment is for an Epic conversion. RNs do not titrate drips; common set-rate drips include Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine, with step-by-step protocols. The unit uses home-regimen CPAP and BiPAP. Must be willing to precept.
Shift & Scheduling: Six weekend shifts are required (every other weekend) in a 6 week period; night shifts are Friday and Saturday. Holiday requirements are 2 major (eve and day—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) and 2 minor; assignments will fill in where there is a need. No call. Self-scheduling is allowed, but schedules are not finalized until balanced by the manager. Flexible contract hours: 36 per week may be considered if 48-hour weeks are not possible.
Floating Requirements: The majority of floating is within the three monitor pods; occasional floating to Med-Surg may be required. May float to a higher-acuity floor, caring only for telemetry patients. Travelers are first to float. May float between the Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart) as needed.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
