Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Complete Balance Physical Therapy Group in Scotts Valley, California. Work Environment
In this full-time, onsite position, you will work in a dynamic orthopedic outpatient setting within a hospital facility. Your work schedule will primarily be from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life routine while dedicating yourself to the patients we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in executing tailored treatment plans for patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions.
- Conduct patient assessments by gathering important medical histories and vital signs, providing data to inform treatment decisions.
- Guide and supervise patients through prescribed exercises, balance training, and mobility techniques, ensuring correct form and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment, setting up necessary tools and modalities before each session.
- Document patient progress and treatment updates accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as WebPT, to ensure continuity of care.
- Support administrative tasks, including scheduling patient appointments and communicating with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic home exercises and strategies to enhance recovery and prevent future injuries.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with patients dealing with various orthopedic issues, such as post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Our diverse patient population ranges from young athletes to active older adults, all of whom rely on our expertise to regain their independence and improve their physical functionality. Understanding each patient's unique situation allows you to provide exceptional support throughout their recovery journey.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
- An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience working in an outpatient orthopedic setting is required.
- Proficiency in utilizing EMR systems, with experience specifically in WebPT preferred.
- Solid understanding of manual therapy techniques and advanced therapeutic exercises.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, additional experience in specialized areas such as sports rehabilitation, geriatrics, or manual therapy techniques would be advantageous. Compensation and Benefits
