Our facility in Billerica, Massachusetts is located in the metropolitan Boston area and specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced photonics products based on MEMS and other micro-scale optical devices. Our unique technology enables the highest system performance in the most compact and cost-effective formats in a variety of applications.

Design and manufacture of micro-optic components and assemblies that combine microelectronics technology, micro-alignment structures, electronics with an automated assembly process and high voltage power conversion systems.

We are presently seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector who is responsible for the quality examination of production and engineering items involving specialized technical techniques, analysis methods and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspection of incoming products to ensure compliance with customer and internal quality standards
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, ISO procedures, and industry specifications with minimal guidance
  • Operate handheld measuring and test equipment, including micrometers, calipers, microscopes, and height gauges
  • Own and drive the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including coordinating dispositions such as vendor returns, rework, and scrap
  • Support Quality Engineers with containment activities and first article inspections, contributing technical input on root cause and corrective action
  • Complete inspection forms and reports accurately within the ERP system
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and reduce cycle time
  • Maintain familiarity with populated PCB assemblies; IPC-A-610 certification preferred
  • Uphold a safe work environment in accordance with internal safety procedures and OSHA regulations


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification a plus
  • 5+ years of experience as a quality inspector, ideally in a related manufacturing or electronics industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency with handheld measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, microscopes, height gauges)
  • CMM operation experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a cross-functional team
