This role supports the opening of our brand-new Stratford School campus in Morgan Hill, CA (410 Llagas Rd. Morgan Hill, CA 95037)
The Vice Principal works closely with the Principal and fellow administrators to oversee daily operations, support faculty and staff, and uphold academic and cultural excellence. This leader ensures a safe, engaging, and mission-driven environment that fosters growth for both students and staff. The Vice Principal position is a key leadership development role focused on preparing future Principals. While supporting the day-to-day leadership of the school, Vice Principals are expected to actively pursue readiness for a Principal role and transition into such a position when deemed prepared and when opportunities become available.
Key Responsibilities
School Operations & Compliance
- Manage day-to-day operations for early childhood and elementary programs.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and health/safety regulations.
- Maintain appropriate teacher-student ratios at all times.
Staff Development & Student Success
- Supervise, coach, and support faculty and extended-day staff.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide instructional feedback.
- Facilitate professional development and regular staff meetings.
- Oversee student academic performance and growth metrics.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new staff.
Campus Leadership & Culture
- Assign staff schedules for arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal.
- Maintain the school events calendar and support event execution.
- Collaborate with the Head of School to create a culture of excellence and support.
- Serve as a key contact for parent and staff communication and engagement.
- Attend at least one professional development workshop or conference annually.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Minimum of 15 ECE semester units (or equivalent), including:
- 12 units in child development, family/community, and curriculum.
- 3 units in administration and supervision.
- At least 4 years of teaching experience in a licensed early childhood or comparable program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Adolescent Development.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in early childhood education.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
