Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 10 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations.
Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.
Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission. All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Shift & Scheduling: No call. Weekend coverage is required for 1 weekend every 2 weeks.
Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Staffing ratios are 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights. The unit uses a team-based model. A virtual nurse works remotely through telehealth technology in each room, completing admission screening and discharge education/documentation and providing some support with rounding and pain reassessment. Certified nursing assistant support is no less than 1 for every 2 nurses, with an additional resource CNA assisting with two-person care and offloading tasks in high-acuity assignments. The charge nurse has no patient assignment. A resource nurse is available when census exceeds 32. The unit cares for a full range of internal medicine admissions, about 40-50% of census, and postoperative patients, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, knee replacement/revision, hip replacement/revision, colectomy/bowel resection, prostatectomy, and nephrectomy.
