Full job description
Job Description:
- Support the full life cycle of small-scale projects from initial concept design through project completion
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, digital controls, and other mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities and equipment, and repair or replace defective parts as needed
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests
- Conduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirements
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project status
- Ensure that all facilities follow applicable codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inventory, and time sheets
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and digital graphic logic
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery Certification
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required
- Familiarity with state and local building codes and OSHA regulations a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
- Must pass a pre-employment physical exam
- Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- May require work in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation) are present; this position will require participation in a medical surveillance program
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
- Must be able to go up and down stairs
