Work Environment

You will work onsite at our hospital facility in Monroeville, New Jersey. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent work-life balance while allowing you to focus on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing individualized therapy programs as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Delivering therapeutic interventions including exercises, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, and various modalities, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Providing meticulous documentation of patient treatments, reactions, and progress using our electronic medical record system to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Instructing patients in proper techniques, positioning, and home exercise programs, empowering them to safely maintain their progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Collaborating closely with physical therapists, clinic aides, and administrative personnel to optimize patient flow and enhance the quality of care.
  • Monitoring patient progress closely and adjusting treatment plans alongside the supervising Physical Therapist as necessary, communicating any pertinent changes to the patient's healthcare team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on outpatient orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions that affect physical movement. You will interact with diverse populations, ensuring that each patient receives compassionate support tailored to their specific rehabilitation needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, ideally related to healthcare or rehabilitation.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.
  • Strong communication and time management skills, essential for collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to engage with patients empathetically and provide exceptional care.

Preferred Experience

While having two years of experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred, new graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive comprehensive training to help them succeed in this fast-paced environment. CPR certification is required or a willingness to obtain it prior to starting the role.

Compensation and Benefits
