As a Data Processing Systems Engineer Intern, your primary focus will be supporting a Systems Engineering team with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities. You’ll collaborate with mentors and experienced engineers to contribute to mission-critical systems. This internship offers hands-on experience across the systems engineering lifecycle and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities
- Assist with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities for mission-critical systems
- Assist in creating documentation, workflows, and integration plans
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to turn new ideas into reality
- Support system design, integration, and testing activities as needed
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Desired Skills
This internship is designed to help you learn. Prior experience in all areas is not expected.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles
- Programming experience (Python or similar)
- Interest in Earth science or space systems
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
Special Requirements
Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hiring to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account. Experience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability.
