Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of personalized treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to the prescribed methodology.
- Provide hands-on rehabilitation assistance, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and patient mobility support.
- Monitor patient progress closely, documenting changes and adjusting treatment sessions to optimize recovery outcomes.
- Educate patients on tailored exercise regimens, proper body mechanics, and lifestyle modifications to enhance rehabilitation efforts.
- Engage in continuous communication with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and effective patient management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records that adhere to regulatory standards and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal system. You will be integral in empowering patients to regain their physical capabilities and improving their quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
- Active physical therapist assistant state license is required.
- A solid foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential to effectively support patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and professional patient care while fostering trust and rapport.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
Preferred Experience
