Work Environment
The successful candidate for this full-time PTA position will work onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the execution of customized treatment plans aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Guide patients through a combination of therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, and functional activities to facilitate their rehabilitation journey.
- Administer various modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, to enhance recovery processes and manage pain.
- Monitor patient progress closely, documenting changes and communicating critical updates to supervising Physical Therapists to ensure continuous care adjustments.
- Educate patients on proper techniques for injury prevention, safe exercise practices, and adherence to their tailored home exercise programs.
- Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations to uphold patient confidentiality and ensure compliance.
- Engage in regular collaboration with the healthcare team, including physical therapists, physicians, and administrative staff, to ensure holistic and effective patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our PTAs work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgical procedures, and debilitating conditions, such as arthritis. The evolving patient demographic ranges from active adults to seniors, with varied needs and goals. This role demands a compassionate approach for empowering patients, along with the ability to adapt treatments based on individual circumstances.
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a PTA, preferably in outpatient orthopedic settings.
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercise protocols, manual therapy techniques, and patient education methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, marking a patient-centered approach to care delivery.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and the ability to navigate documentation platforms efficiently.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in an outpatient orthopedic clinic.
