This role coordinates the movement of products from order readiness through delivery with third-party logistics providers, carriers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams, and helps ensure shipments comply with applicable import and export requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong logistics execution with practical trade compliance knowledge and the ability to interpret evolving legal and regulatory requirements, assess business impact, and translate requirements into effective operational processes.

This is a hybrid position in San Jose, with about 1-2 days in the office weekly.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Compliance

Support compliance with applicable U.S. and international trade regulations, company policies, contractual requirements, and customer requirements.

  • Perform and document import/export classification activities, including HTS/HTSUS and ECCN classifications for physical goods and technology products, as applicable.
  • Assess export requirements for products incorporating encryption, including applicable ECCN classifications, EAR encryption controls, license requirements or exceptions, and related documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Assess end-use and end-user restrictions, restricted or sanctioned-party screening requirements, export license determinations, anti-boycott considerations, and other trade compliance requirements.
  • Support export license applications and related documentation, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.
  • Coordinate or support Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings through AES, as applicable, and verify required export data and documentation prior to shipment.
  • Support import compliance activities, including country-of-origin, customs valuation, tariff/duty, and documentation requirements in coordination with customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes to export and import laws and regulations, evaluate potential impact to company and partner processes, and help update procedures and controls to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain complete and accurate trade compliance records, including classification rationale, screening results, licensing documentation, and shipment records, in accordance with applicable requirements and company retention policies.
  • Respond to trade compliance requests, questionnaires, and documentation needs from logistics teams, customers, and business partners supporting global product deployments.

Order Fulfillment & Logistics

  • Support end-to-end order fulfillment activities, from order readiness and shipment planning through final delivery and issue resolution.

  • Coordinate domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and other external partners.

  • Monitor shipment status, proactively identify and resolve delays, exceptions, customs holds, or delivery issues, and communicate timely updates to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Partner with customers and internal teams to understand shipping requirements, documentation needs, delivery expectations, and other order-specific requirements.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping and trade documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other import/export documents as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, service levels, cost efficiency, and global tariff cost containment.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in domestic and international logistics and trade compliance.

  • Working knowledge of import/export regulations, HTS/HTSUS and ECCN classification, export licensing requirements, restricted or sanctioned-party screening, and U.S. export control requirements applicable to products incorporating encryption.
  • Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, 3PL providers, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, business, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with AES/EEI filings, export license applications, and import/export documentation.
  • Familiarity with technology products and global trade requirements for hardware, software, and technology is desirable.
