The work study student provides administrative, logistical, and promotional support to the International Programs Office. This role serves as the primary initial contact for students interested in global learning, assisting with event coordination, marketing initiatives, and daily office operations.

Location: Old Chapel 303

Supervisor: Varvara Meshkov

Work Available: Monday through Friday, 9 am - 4:30 pm

Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr

Number of Positions available: 2

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Front Desk & Administrative Support: Greet visitors, answer phone and email inquiries, schedule advising appointments, route messages, and maintain physical and digital file systems.

  • Marketing & Outreach: Design promotional materials (flyers, social media graphics, newsletters) using tools like Canva; manage official social media accounts to highlight featured programs and student stories.

  • Event Support: Assist staff in planning and executing campus-wide events, including the annual Study Abroad Fair, pre-departure orientations, info sessions, and classroom visits.

  • Data & Logistics Management: Input applicant data into tracking software, organize promotional brochures, process passport photo requests (if applicable), and track office inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service orientation, and organization.

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace / Microsoft Office; experience with Canva, Instagram, or video editing tools is a plus.

  • Prior participation in a study abroad, exchange, or international travel program preferred, but cross-cultural interest is required.
