This Partner-level opportunity offers the chance to shape strategy, influence the market, and support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that are helping define the future of the North American power sector.
Why This Role Matters
The demand for new transmission infrastructure has never been greater. Utilities, developers, and grid operators are navigating increasing complexity driven by electrification, grid modernization, renewable energy integration, data center growth, and evolving regulatory requirements.
As one of the world's leading sustainability consultancies, ERM is uniquely positioned to support clients through these challenges. With more than $250 million in annual power-sector project work and a multidisciplinary team spanning environmental permitting, stakeholder engagement, regulatory strategy, impact assessment, and capital project delivery, ERM provides a powerful platform for senior leaders to drive meaningful impact.
In this role, you will help clients advance some of the region's most important transmission initiatives while contributing to the continued growth and strategic direction of ERM's Power business.
What You'll Do
As a Partner, you will play a key role in shaping and expanding ERM's transmission advisory capabilities by:
- Growing and strengthening ERM's Transmission & Distribution business across key North American markets.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to utilities, transmission owners, developers, and infrastructure investors.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of complex transmission siting, routing, permitting, and regulatory programs.
- Guiding clients through environmental review, stakeholder engagement, and approval processes associated with large-scale infrastructure development.
- Developing and expanding strategic client relationships that support long-term growth.
- Mentoring and developing high-performing teams while fostering technical excellence across the organization.
- Enhancing ERM's market presence and thought leadership in transmission planning, permitting, and grid modernization.
- Contributing to the strategic direction of ERM's North America business as a member of the firm's leadership community.
What You'll Bring
Required
- 15+ years of experience in transmission siting and routing, environmental permitting, regulatory strategy, impact assessment, or related advisory services.
- Strong industry relationships with utilities, developers, transmission owners, or other key market participants.
- Experience supporting major power-sector projects across multiple states, particularly in the Western United States.
- Demonstrated success leading complex infrastructure programs and multidisciplinary teams.
- A proven track record of business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth.
Preferred
- Experience supporting grid modernization initiatives, long-range transmission planning, or broader energy transition programs.
- Established reputation as a trusted advisor and industry leader within the electric transmission sector.
Why ERM
As a Partner, you will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in ERM's Partner ownership model and contribute directly to the growth of the business.
- Help shape the future direction of ERM's growing Power business.
- Leverage a substantial existing platform supported by more than $250 million in annual power-sector project work.
- Collaborate with leading technical, regulatory, and sustainability experts across North America and globally.
- Build lasting client relationships while supporting projects that are critical to the future reliability, resilience, and modernization of the electric grid.
- Leave a meaningful legacy through work that advances sustainable infrastructure development and the energy transition.
