Position:

PRN Nocturnist Gastroenterology Hospitalist
Location:

Arlington, VA (DC Metro / DMV Area)
VHC Health is seeking a Board-Certified GI Hospitalist to join our growing, patient-centered program at our main hospital campus in Arlington, Virginia-a leading medical hub in the Washington, DC metro region.
This opportunity is ideal for Gastroenterologists interested in providing high-acuity GI care in an overnight inpatient call structure with a flexible schedule.
Opportunity Highlights
PRN nocturnist position within a highly reputable, award-winning health system

Dedicated inpatient GI hospitalist role focused on consults, urgent procedures, and acute care management

Hospital-based practice at VHC Healths Main Hospital Campus in Arlington, VA

Access to advanced endoscopy and procedural support

Collaborative environment with hospitalists, intensivists, and subspecialists

Strong administrative and operational support

Emphasis on clinical excellence, efficiency, and patient-centered care

Available Shifts
Weekday Shift: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM call (holding pager, availability for emergent procedures or in-house consults)

Weekend Shift: 5:00 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday (call coverage, holding pager, covering inpatient consults and procedures)

Position Responsibilities
Provide clinical overnight inpatient gastroenterology services

Manage acute GI conditions and other urgent/emergent presentations

Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, and Hospitalist teams

Ensure timely documentation and structured handoff to daytime GI physicians

Support VHC Healths mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship

Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Gastroenterology

Experience with inpatient GI and endoscopy preferred (new graduates with strong training encouraged to apply)

Eligible for or licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
