DescriptionAmerican Traveler is looking for a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital position requiring 1 year of experience and BLS certification.
DetailsAcute Care Hospital setting with a 1:1 patient ratio
Weekend day shift, 4x10 hours, Friday through Monday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Epic charting system experience preferred
Treats orthopedic and sports medicine patient populations
Performs assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, skin integrity, and strength testing
Provides gait training, extremity mobilization, and spinal mobilization
Utilizes crutches, gait belts, and standard walkers
Documents evaluations, plans of care, short and long term goals, and reassessments
RequirementsMinimum 1 year of inpatient physical therapy experience required
Current BLS certification required
WI or Compact license preferred, pending license accepted at submission with license required prior to start
License required if applicable
SSN and DOB required at time of submission
RTO must be submitted at time of application
NIHSS certification may be pending but must be completed during compliance
Experience with ortho conditions such as DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, hip fractures, knee injuries, and post-op spinal or shoulder repair preferred
Home exercise program development and patient/family education skills required
Knowledge of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse required
Additional InformationMain responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for orthopedic and sports medicine patients
Facility cannot accommodate travelers with latex allergies
Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
Orientation modules average 3-4 hours and are typically completed during orientation
Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
First-time travelers accepted
Travel pairs accepted
