Job Summary
Responsible for moderately complex engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Performs moderately complex structural engineering calculations as they relate to the application products.
Prepares Bills of Material.
Performs Application Engineering Functions.
Visits job sites.
Assist Account Managers in sales efforts.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have 5 years of Structural Engineering experience
Familiarity with current building codes and standards
ASCE
ACI
IBC
AISCConcrete Design experience
Some Tilt-Up Design and construction practices exposure
Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
Experience in reading blueprints.
Prefer experience in using structural analysis software for simple beam and column elements structure is a plus.
Prefer experience in structural engineering as it relates to either steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast or tilt construction.
