Anoka Technical College is seeking an unlimited, full-time Auto Mechanic faculty member who is skilled in using active and experiential learning strategies; has enthusiasm for teaching and learning; has a strong commitment to creating a student-centered environment and the ability to differentiate instruction across multiple levels and learning styles.
Instruct students in a range of subjects across the assigned curriculum.
Teach courses in day, evening, and alternate schedule formats utilizing traditional and alternative delivery methods and virtual learning environments.
Assess student academic achievement at classroom, department, and college levels.
Participate in departmental and college communities through a variety of activities (curriculum development, service on committees, student life activities, department initiatives, grant initiatives, etc.).
Salary Range:
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $44,359- $99,499. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
**Please note, Initial Step placement is established by the MSCF contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new Faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement:
Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in automotive services technology.
Occupational Experience Requirement:
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology.
Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
Current ASE certification in the areas in which the faculty member is teaching.
Preferred Qualification
Recent/relevant teaching and/or training experience.
Previous work experience in a post-secondary institution.
Demonstrated experience with assessment of student learning.
Demonstrated experience developing/revising curriculum.
Demonstrated experience with D2L or other on-line teaching platforms.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population.
