Job Summary

The AEP Energy Solutions Sales Analyst Sr supports the Commercial & Industrial Solutions Sales team and contributes to complex customer opportunities and sales initiatives. This role applies advanced knowledge of the energy industry and market, customer needs analysis, tailored solution development, contract execution support, and relationship building to provide experienced analytical and operational support to sales representatives.

This position serves as a key talent pipeline for future Solutions Sales Representatives, providing opportunities to develop customer-facing skills, commercial acumen, and energy market expertise while partnering closely with experienced sales professionals. Through increasing responsibility and direct involvement in customer opportunities, analysts can build the capabilities needed to transition into a sales representative role.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify, qualify, and evaluate potential customers through targeted prospecting, referrals, networking events, and market research, and provide recommendations to sales representatives.
     
  • Sales Process Support: Provide analytical and operational support for complex customer opportunities, including customer assessments, energy usage analysis, data gathering, customer education, solution evaluation, and proposal preparation.
     
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate customer and pipeline information and support opportunity tracking, reporting, forecasting, and data quality across the sales organization.
     
  • Relationship Building: Build productive, trust-based relationships with customers and internal stakeholders and participate in customer discussions as needed to support sales representatives.
     
  • Learning & Development: Maintain advanced knowledge of energy markets, regulations, products, and customer trends and share relevant knowledge and practices with less experienced analysts.
     
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales support, pricing, operations, legal, risk, and product teams to support timely customer proposals, sales initiatives, and process improvements.
     
  • Problem Solving: Evaluate complex customer and business needs, develop solution alternatives, and provide recommendations that support successful customer and business outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

Solutions Sales Analyst Sr. | Salary Grade 7
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, engineering, industrial technology, mathematics, or a similar field is required.

Experience: Two years of experience in customer service, energy sales support, business development, account support, or a related field is required.


Solutions Sales Analyst Prin | Salary Grade 8
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, engineering, industrial technology, mathematics, or a similar field is required.

Experience: Four years of experience in customer service, energy sales support, business development, account support, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation Range:

$87,633.00 - $128,688.00
