Position Overview
PhysioSpace LLC is seeking a highly motivated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated team in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. In this full-time, onsite role, you will collaborate closely with experienced Physical Therapists to implement and assist with tailored rehabilitation treatments. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to established rehabilitation goals.
- Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises, utilizing manual therapy techniques and functional mobility training to maximize recovery.
- Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, closely monitoring patient responses.
- Document patient progress meticulously, keeping detailed records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
- Instruct patients on injury prevention techniques and home exercise programs to promote ongoing wellness and self-management.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clientele primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgical interventions, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will engage with a variety of patients, from post-operative rehabilitation cases to those dealing with sports-related injuries. Understanding the unique needs and recovery journeys of each patient will be critical for success in this role.
Qualifications
- An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred; an Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program is acceptable.
- At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, focusing on outpatient orthopedics.
- Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, providing a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a hospital environment is highly preferred.
