Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
- Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
- Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
- Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
- Responsible for repairing, modifying and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles.
- Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions
- Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant to include brake maintenance
- Completes all required daily reporting as required
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations
Education:
- High School Diploma
Experience and Competencies:
- 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance
- Welding and body fabrication experience is a plus
- Must be able to read and comprehend technical reference materials (equipment and repair manuals)
- Experience with applicable Microsoft and diagnostic applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Prompt, professional and dependable demeanor
