OB-GYN Hospitalist Medical Director

Medical Director Role Overview
As Medical Director, you will serve as the

clinical leader and architect

of this new OB-GYN Hospitalist program. You will partner closely with hospital leadership and Stanford-affiliated specialists to ensure a high-performing, collaborative, and patient-centered service.

Key Responsibilities
Provide

clinical leadership and oversight

for the OB-GYN hospitalist team
Lead

program development , including workflows, protocols, and team culture
Drive

quality improvement, patient safety, and performance metrics
Collaborate with hospital administration, nursing leadership, and community OB/GYNs
Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of hospitalist providers
Ensure compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices

24-hour, in-house shifts

1 Medical Director + 4 OB-GYN Hospitalists

Board-certified OB-GYN
Active California license (or ability to obtain)
5 years of clinical experience preferred
Prior leadership experience strongly preferred
Passion for building programs, mentoring providers, and driving clinical excellence

Benefits and Compensation

Pay Range Based on Hours: Annual compensation is $312,000 - $438,000. Medical Director stipend is $25,000.
Regular full-time is classified as team members who are consistently scheduled and work 30 hours or more on a weekly basis. Regular full-time team members are eligible for the following:
