Full job description

Jerry's Enterprises, Inc. has an outstanding opportunity for a Corporate HR Manager - Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Compliance. This position serves as the organization's subject matter expert for employee and labor relations, employment law compliance, affirmative action planning, and policy administration. This position supports corporate, retail, distribution, and other small format locations employees across 25+ locations and approximately 1500 employees. (total company is 3000+ employees and 50+ locations). The position also serves as a primary HR resource for designated union-represented locations and supports labor-management relationships, investigations, and other matters.


Reports To: Vice President Human Resources

Location: Corporate Office - Edina, MN

Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Salary range: $115,000-$145,000/year, based on experience

Key Areas of Responsibility

Employee and Labor Relations

  • Partner with union Business Agents and Operations leaders regarding contract interpretation, grievance administration, and labor-management issues.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Manage employee relations matters.
  • Partner with VP HR on collective bargaining agreement negotiations.

 

Compliance and Regulatory Administration

  • Maintain expertise in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, wage and hour, leave administration, ADA, FMLA, Mn Paid Leave and other employment-related requirements.
  • Lead responses to agency inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor applicable affirmative action and workforce compliance programs.
  • Coordinate required EEO, workforce, and regulatory reporting.

 

Leadership Development

  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, labor relations, and policy application.
  • Support succession planning initiatives for Operational leadership roles.

 

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Identify recurring employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Partner with Payroll, Operations, and HR teams on compliance-related initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement within HR processes and practices, leveraging technology and teamwork
  • Provide workplace training in area(s) of expertise.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Behavioral Sciences, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
  • Solid employee relations and labor relations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, EEO, affirmative action, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a decentralized, multi-location organization.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Labor relations/union experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Workday or another enterprise HRIS, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred
