Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Oakhurst Health & Rehab is seeking a dedicated, experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our nursing department and help us deliver exceptional care to our residents. If you are a strong clinical leader with a passion for long-term care, this is the opportunity for you!

About the Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a key leadership role within our skilled nursing facility, supporting the Director of Nursing in daily operations, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. This individual will serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and champion for excellence in resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with oversight of all nursing operations
• Support staffing, scheduling, and team coordination to ensure adequate clinical coverage
• Provide hands-on clinical guidance and serve as a resource to nursing staff
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of nursing personnel
• Conduct audits, monitor documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Lead and assist with care planning, assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support infection control programs and risk management practices
• Ensure resident-centered care and a positive care environment
• Step into the DON role when needed in their absence

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
2+ years of nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and CMS regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to motivate and support a diverse team
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
