Field Safety Specialist

Field Safety Specialist Requirements & Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety or relevant field experience
  • Experience in structural steel or other high-risk construction environments strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% (in and out of state)
  • Confident working on active job sites with multiple trades


Field Safety Specialist Preferred Background & Skills


  • Hands-on approach with a proactive mindset toward hazard prevention
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with all levels onsite, including subcontractors


Field Safety Specialist Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Conduct regular job site safety walks, inspections, and audits
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors, ensuring timely corrective action
  • Support enforcement of safety standards and OSHA compliance in the field
  • Maintain a strong visible presence on job sites to reinforce safe work practices
  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and incident investigations
  • Collaborate with leadership and crews to promote a proactive safety culture and implement risk-reduction solutions
