About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the development of enterprise-scale database projects and manage the technical talent behind them. In this role, you will be the bridge between strategic mission goals and technical execution, overseeing everything from high-level architectural design to staff budgeting and resource allocation. Your leadership will ensure that our government partners have the robust, scalable, and efficient data structures needed to drive the next generation of AI-enabled decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end development and execution of complex database projects.
- Lead the planning and budgeting of staff and database resources to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress and reallocate technical resources as necessary to maximize benefits and efficiency.
- Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and technical direction to support staff and engineering teams.
- Develop and deliver high-level presentations on DBMS concepts and architectural strategies to diverse stakeholders.
- Oversee the design and implementation of relational database environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Analyze existing data architectures and identify opportunities for modernization and integration.
- Ensure all database projects adhere to strict security, compliance, and government data standards.
- Serve as a primary technical advisor on the selection and utilization of database technologies and tools.
Required Experience/Clearance
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture and database management.
- Extensive knowledge of relational database environments (RDBMS) and data modeling.
- Proven experience in managing technical teams and supervising support staff on large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and reallocate resources in a dynamic environment.
