Job Summary
RAF Electronic Hardware is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Operator I to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and setting up CNC equipment to manufacture high-quality precision components in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up manufacturing equipment, interpreting blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and making machine adjustments to ensure products meet required tolerances.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

RAF Electronic Hardware is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Operator I to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and setting up CNC equipment to manufacture high-quality precision components in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up manufacturing equipment, interpreting blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and making machine adjustments to ensure products meet required tolerances.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review blueprints and setup charts to determine machine setup procedures, required attachments, and material specifications.
- Select and install machine attachments, including taper cams, wire size blocks, coiling points, pitch tools, and cutting tools according to setup requirements.
- Verify material dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Thread wire through drive rollers and machine guides as required.
- Set cams, turnbuckles, and pitch tools to control product dimensions.
- Perform trial runs, including stress relief processes, and inspect sample parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Measure and inspect products using gauges, load testers, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Recommend process or blueprint changes to address production challenges and improve efficiency.
- Create or modify tooling and attachments when necessary and not readily available in inventory.
- Cross-train and support other departments as business needs require.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
Required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in coiling and/or equivalent machine operation and setup.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Experience with cold winding, hot winding, lathes, mandrels, CNC machines, or related manufacturing equipment.
- Manufacturing or machining experience in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret part specifications and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
