Full job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed
- Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create the Third Place environment during each shift
- Deliver quality customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discover and respond to customer needs
- Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
- Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
- Maintain high levels of sanitation of all equipment by adhering to department policies and procedures, Health Dept. codes and J.C.A.H.O. regulations
- Contribute to a positive working environment and promote teamwork by taking an initiative to improve overall quality and exceed customer expectations. Maintain clear communication channels and constructive, sensitive relationships with co workers, supervisors, patients, customers, parents and all hospital staff
Experience:
- Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team
- Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
- Customer service skills with ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel
- Requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees
- Rotating Weekends-- morning and evenings 32 hours a week (Part time)
- Starbucks Barista Trainer Certification required within 6 months of hire
- ServSafe Certification; MA Allergen Training or AllerTrain Manager Certification is preferred
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
